Internal knowledge assistant
Help staff find guidance in approved policies, process documents or product information, with source references where appropriate.
Help your team find and use approved business information. We build custom assistants and tools around a defined task, your data sources and the systems involved.
A useful business assistant needs more than a chat window. It needs a defined purpose, appropriate access to information and a way to check whether its answers are useful and reliable.
We start with the users and the work: what questions they need answered, which sources are authoritative and what the assistant should do when information is missing. A custom assistant may retrieve approved documents rather than train a new model.

Prepare a first draft, summary or comparison using agreed inputs. Keep a person responsible for checking the output before use.
Combine an assistant with a scoped dashboard or workflow. Any actions it can take should have explicit permissions and checks.
What would an assistant be worth to your team? Pick the tasks it would help with for a quick estimate of the time and money saved.
Try the AI Savings and ROI calculatorThe engagement should define allowed data sources, user access, hosting and model-provider arrangements. Data handling depends on the selected architecture and provider terms; it should be agreed before sensitive information is connected.
Testing should include representative questions, missing information, conflicting sources and requests outside the assistant's role. An assistant should explain its limits and escalate or decline when it cannot answer appropriately.
We also discuss who maintains the source material and how the team reports incorrect answers. AI output needs review appropriate to the task; a custom assistant does not eliminate that responsibility.
A custom assistant can add a specific workflow, approved sources, access controls and integrations. A standard tool may already be enough for some tasks; the choice should follow the business need.
Potentially, subject to their quality, access rights and the agreed data-handling setup. We assess the sources and permissions before implementation.
A customer-facing assistant is a possible use case, but needs clear scope, reliable sources, escalation and monitoring. We would assess those requirements separately.
Only where actions are explicitly scoped, permissioned and tested. Higher-consequence steps may need human approval. See our workflow automation service for related implementation considerations.
